Bandit
Bandit is doing great! He is 8 months old and about 16 pounds.
After having two rescue eskies, we decided to add a puppy to our family. I searched on Petfinder.com and found Bandit. I immediately fell in puppy love from the first time I saw his picture. I always thought I would get an eskie puppy and not an eskie mix, but I was smitten with Bandit immediately. Midsouth Eskie Alliance was easy to work with and very thorough in making sure Bandit would go to a good home. We had quite the experience getting Bandit which included Bandit's foster mother having car trouble, a failed attempt by a friend to get Bandit before the tow truck got there, tornado warnings, hail and a LONG drive home- none of which was anyone's fault, it was just one of those days when everything went wrong! Bandit has been a WONDERFUL addition to our family. He chews on, jumps on and runs with Snowball all the time, causing Snowball to lose a couple of pounds (that he needed to lose). He gets along well with Princess, although she lets him know she's the queen bee. My four boys love him and play with him constantly. He has brought much joy and laughter to our house.
Thank you Midsouth Eskie Alliance for rescuing and fostering Bandit. We can even look back on that terrible transport day with laughter now - what a story to tell our friends! My husband says he must have been SOME puppy for us to go through all those things to bring him home. We could not imagine life without him, and are thankful to be his forever family.
Sincerely,
Heather
Felicity
It is so hard to put into words how much Felicity means to us. We love her so much and she is a wonderful addition to our family. Having Felicity join our family has been a true blessing. Reading the adoption ad I knew she would be perfect for our family. I filled out the adoption application and crossed my fingers. We were so nervous waiting to hear if we would be selected to adopt Felicity. When we found out we passed the adoption application and the following home inspection we were so excited. We could hardly wait to get her. We had to wait a week and then drive 5 hours to meet the transport. We got to the meeting place about two hours early because we were just so excited about getting her and it was true love at first sight. My daughter and I really bonded with her on the five hour trip home. It was like she knew she could trust us and that we were taking her somewhere good. First let me tell you that my grandson Trey, who is three years old, lives with me and has had a lot of anxiety. Having Felicity has helped him so much with that. As long as he has her around him he is fine. She has done so much to help him just by being here. Being a single mom for two years now, has been really lonely for me, Felicity has become my companion. She is always there for me, with unconditional love. She sleeps with me at night. She loves to sit in my lap and have her tummy rubbed. We are working on learning how to shake. She is working very hard to learn it. She loves the treats she gets. Its so funny when I get home from work she gets so excited. She jumps up and down and barks at me. I don't know if she is telling me how happy she is that I am home or if she is yelling at me for not taking her with me. Felicity is just a joy to have around. She is always so happy and loving. We are just spoiling her. She has this blue doggie toy that we play with, we just have so much fun with her. My ten year old son loves to play and pet her. He will take her out for walks, he just really enjoys her friendship. Felicity is our chicken soup for the soul.
Sincerely,
Sheri
Little Bear
Little Bear is doing great. I just wanted to give you an update. He has adjusted very well and loves to play with kids. My daughter takes him everywhere we go.
Thanks again for everything,
Jeff
Uli Bear
Uli Bear is our baby that we gloriously adopted from the Mid-South Eskie Alliance. She is part American Eskimo/Spitz (or Eskie), and part - well, we dunno! Funny thing is that we first decided we wanted an Eskie/Spitz thanks to the good embassaor-ship of Trixie (4-Legged daughter of a dear friend). She's such a sweet girl and smart as a whip. So, we wanted an Eskie…we found the Mid-South Eskie Alliance rescue and fell in love with a dog named Sarah. We liked the puppy they had up for grabs named Lil' Bear, but we wanted a female dog to balance the male dog we already owned. We hurriedly filled-out our our application for Sarah and hoped to hear something soon! We did…however (and blessedly for Sarah), it was to find out that Sarah was already spoken for. I got a little sad about that, but the kind and gentle Beth (of M-SEA), offered that there was a little girl puppy recently born with the litter that Lil' Bear was in. Apparently, since she had black ears, a black spot on her back, and a black spot on her butt - people didn't want her…I guess the markings made it obvious she wasn't a pure breed. She was concerned that she'd have to involve another mix-breed rescue in an effort to place her. Without thinking I said, YES! Puppy! Yes! We sadly missed all the puppy years from our other dog Easton, so I said - please put her on hold, let me call my husband. I did, and he agreed - with caution. A puppy was going to be some work! We got our first picture and we fell in love. She moved in on a foster-to-adopt basis, just in case she didn't work out with our other animals (a golden labointer named Easton, and 2 kitties). Blessedly, she does - really well, and she's learning more every day! She's fiesty and sassy and she's all ours. Mostly I want everyone to know that this is my 3rd mixed breed dog, and all three have been intelligent, personable and LOADED with positive personality. The markings make her more distinctive, unique and adorable, and she quickly becomes the one that everyone asks "What kind of dog is she?" and "She's soooo cute!" She is - and she's ours.
